CORAZÓNES HEARTS

The Heart Series is part of her new collection.

This series is a metaphor illustrating the connection between a piece of paper and a heart. To Begoña, these share a profound resemblance - harming a heart feels like crumpling a pristine piece of paper. As both paper and heart start to smooth and soften they start ‘healing’, however, they have both experienced a permanent transformation, carrying the imprints of history.

The hearts are enclosed in glass domes, but no glue is used and there is no base. The intention is to preserve their freedom, symbolizing that love should never be constrained.

These artworks act as a poignant reminder that each one of us possess a heart - whether it be our own, or that of our children, partners, or parents - that necessitates nurturing and safeguarding. It is imperative to treat one another with kindness and refrain from inflicting harm upon these fragile hearts.
